Letter from PCPs regarding COVID and telemedicine

Dear Patient,

We are closely watching the coronavirus (COVID-19) and staying up-to-date on information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as state and county health departments.

To help limit the spread of COVID-19, we will be using video visits for all patients who have any signs, symptoms or exposure to COVID-19. Video visits allow your provider to evaluate and treat you as needed in the safety of your own home using a smartphone or computer.

So, what do you do if you’re sick?

Call us first. If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and develop a fever and symptoms, such as a cough or difficulty breathing, call us. We can help you set up a video visit to figure out if testing is needed. If you aren’t able to use video visits, we will help you set up a phone call with your provider.

Only use the Emergency Department if you have severe shortness of breath or symptoms that are getting worse. If possible, alert them that you are coming and may be at risk for COVID-19. To contact the Emergency Department, call 443-481-1000.

If you don’t have symptoms, but are worried you’ve been exposed to COVID-19, please contact the Maryland Department of Health at 410-222-7256.

Learn if you are at a higher risk for COVID-19.
